This client has a large country garden which they are developing in stages. The first stage was to take the old orchard and introduce an attractive, but productive, vegetable patch. There were a number of mature trees, a soakaway and a greenhouse to work around, and the client required at least four distinct beds in order to operate an organic crop rotation system. A circular bed system was drawn up, and an additional bed was added beyond this circle. This fifth bed was designed to sit below the soakaway on the sloped site. As such, it will benefit from extra moisture and so is ideally suited to salad crops. "The design is so simple, and yet exactly what I need. It fits around the obstacles of the soakaway, greenhhouse and trees and looks very attractive. The first harvest has been very fruitful - thank you." Miss Tompkins, Somerset |
