These clients have a large garden that wraps around their house. The site is very close to the coast, which means that the plants selected needed to be strong enought to withstand the coastal winds. However, the coastal position also means that more exotic plants can be grown in the mild microclimate.

The client wanted to retain a some of existing flowerbeds in the garden, but they also wanted to incorporate a large pond, to be visible from their conservatory. The pond is a striking feature, with a cascade backed by existing trees, falling into the large pond. There is a beach area to allow wildlife to access to the water, and aside this is a bog planting area for waterside plants.

The design includes these and also adds a slightly sunken wildflower area. This area has a bench , which gives a view of a small statue set among the meadow flowers.

This garden was commissioned and constructed by Living Landscapes.
